Digitalization is transforming the pharmaceutical industry, and solutions like Verifactu and Nixfarma 10 are leading the way into a new era. These tools represent a decisive step towards a more modern, efficient and connected management, allowing pharmacies to adapt to the future with agility and security. They were, therefore, the great protagonists of the event “Experience the New Era of Live Pharmacy”.
The future does not wait: e-invoicing is here. Pulso, a Glintt Life company, organized the event “Live the New Era of Pharmacy” in Valencia, with Verifactu and Nixfarma 10 as the main highlights, symbolizing a renewed and innovative vision of the sector. The meeting was also a day of celebration of Qwerty’s 40th anniversary.
The essence of Glintt Life is to be close to pharmacies, understand their needs and offer solutions that help them grow. José Travé (Nixfarma) welcomed and presented the day’s agenda, while Luis Esgueva (Glintt Life) challenged the participants to reflect on Verifactu: would it be an obstacle or an opportunity? He then explained why he firmly believes that this is the second hypothesis.
According to Esgueva, we live in a unique moment. “The Spanish health system, despite the challenges of sustainability, is a world example. Pharmacies are at the heart of this system, and their role is essential to ensure the proximity and continuity of health care,” he said, adding that the pharmaceutical sector continues to grow.
He also highlighted that legislative changes, far from being obstacles, have always created opportunities for innovation. This was the case with the electronic prescription, the private prescription and the SEVeM. He also underlined that Glintt Life continues to stand by pharmacies, offering advanced solutions such as Nixfarma 10, which incorporates state-of-the-art technology and artificial intelligence to carry out predictive purchases, always with the close support of Qwerty.
Javier Hurtado, from the Spanish Tax Agency (AET), explained Verifactu in a clear and practical way, presenting it as an opportunity and not a threat. He said that this change is also cultural and should be integrated in order to benefit the activity of pharmacies. He distinguished the electronic invoice from Verifactu: the first is a relationship between parties; the second is a secure computer record, automatically sent to the ELA – an inevitable step on the path to digitalisation.
Hurtado added that Royal Decree 1007 defines Verifactu and aims to facilitate automatic compliance with tax obligations. He recalled that in the Basque Country the TicketBAI system has already been in operation for three years. The new model is based on standardization, ensuring greater security with date and time stamps and algorithms that detect any change.
Verifactu mode allows you to transmit real-time billing records to the ELA. Without it, the documentation must be kept for four years. Hurtado pointed out that the adoption of Verifactu brings prestige and transparency, since the operations are now automatically known by the tax authority.
“Verifactu is the first step on the path to digitalization. Whoever adopts it now will already be one step ahead,” he said.
The system also integrates a QR code, which allows customers to verify the authenticity of invoices. All programs will have to be certified, transferring the responsibility for compliance to the manufacturer. Verifactu will come into force for legal entities on January 1, 2026, with manufacturers making the compatible software available since July 2025.
In the case of pharmacies, Hurtado explained that they generally operate under two tax regimes: the Equivalence Charge, for the sale of medicines and parapharmacy products, and the General VAT Regime, for services such as glucose or blood pressure measurements. With Verifactu, all operations must be recorded, which requires precise and differentiated management to ensure the traceability and consistency of tax information.
Alex Müller (Glintt Life) then presented the vision of “Pharmacy 10”, a more connected and patient-centric concept. “The new situation forces us to reinvent. It is a turning point, the right time to invest in the intangible,” he said. It showed how Verifactu can help pharmacies invest in themselves, not only by selling more, but by buying better and offering more complete experiences to the omnicustomer, increasingly phygital, patient, combining the physical and the digital.
The roundtable “The Voice of the Sector: From Norms to Innovation” was attended by Vicente Colomer (MICOF), José María Alés (COF Castellón) and José Luis Trillo (Conselleria de Sanitat). The speakers highlighted the advances in bureaucratic simplification and Nixfarma’s role in ensuring security in dispensation processes.
This was followed by Ángela Blanch (Nixfarma), who demonstrated how to apply Verifactu in the day-to-day life of pharmacies with Nixfarma 10, available since July 2025. He explained the configuration steps, the automatic sending of data (not including patient information) and the new rules for returns and rectifying invoices.
The most inspiring moment was the presentation of Nixfarma 10 by José Travé and Celso Delgado, who described it as “much more than a software”.
“It is no longer just a pharmacy program. It is now a connected ecosystem, accessible from anywhere and with built-in intelligence,” they said.
The new system features a customizable dashboard, intuitive design, greater speed and accessibility (78% faster, 43% simpler and 100% more affordable). With Nixfarma Cloud, it is possible to manage the pharmacy remotely. The product is constantly evolving and uses API and Internet of Things for more stable and efficient integration with other tools.
The journey ended with the presentation of NIxIA, Nixfarma’s new artificial intelligence, developed to support pharmacists through a virtual assistant, review of clinical protocols and intelligent drug search.
The event ended with the message “Comply and evolve” and with a tribute to Francisco Lahuerta (Qwerty) for his 40 years of dedication to the sector.
